Colin Trevorrow is no longer directing Star Wars: Episode IX
From StarWars.com:
“Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on Star Wars: Episode IX. Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon.”

So…..exactly who and what vision is controlling this enterprise? Without George no one knows, do they? Taking the heart out of it.

Sadly, I don’t think he wants to be involved. But…why the heck should Kathleen have all the power when she can’t seem to make up her mind? Or is that mind sooooooooooooo made up she won’t allow anyone else to try something original?

To be fair, this might be a good thing. I have three reasons why:
1. Treverow is not in a good place right now, especially with his recent film, The Book of Henry, getting slagged online on Rotten Tomatoes. And, while Jurassic World was a critical and commercial hit, some still have problems with that movie, one of them being that thy think it’s a Jurassic Park ripoff, something JJ Abrams’s TFA was criticized for in that it was ANH rehash.
2) Kathleen Kennedy has been pretty open on how to deal with Carrie Fisher’s loss in Episode IX, so maybe bringing in “Wonder” writer, Jack Thorne was a likely reason why this is more good news, since the reports say the script’s issues is why Treverow left.
3) Finally, with Deadline saying that Rian Johnson is the frontrunner to take over as Episode IX director, he’d be a good fit because since we’ve heard nothing so far saying The Last Jedi is and armoire Strikes Back rehash, this could bode well for Episode IX, since JJ and Treverow would likely make Episode IX a Return of the Jedi rehash.
