This is the most insightful information about the underlying motivation for the massive fan obsession over the Star Wars Prequel (esp, The Phantom Menace and more so Jar Jar Binks in particular). 1999 was made a rough year for me when I had a model of an Orion II spaceship concept I came up with taken away in an attempt to foist Rogue Squadron onto me when I wanted to start fresh with TPM instead as to expunge my early childhood trauma with first riding Star Tours at Disneyland before even hearing of Star Wars.

Those old-school Star Wars fanboys like Donnie Trump and his sycophants today, were very terrified of the change that Jar Jar represented and childishly opted to make life as difficult as possible for those who embraced that very change they feared. Yet notable such fanboys; JJ Abrams and his chief apologist Simon Peggy, who are terrified of Jar Jar Binks and the change he represents went onto to ruin Star Trek with JJ Drek in 2009 thus paving the way for a vicious STD to infect Star Trek in 2017. Jar Jar Binks is a vastly better character than Chris Pine’s Junks Terribus NuKirk (JJ-Drek) and Michael Barnum (STD) put together and that’s an irrefutable FACT that say the original James Tiberius Kirk would fight to defend and uphold.

The Phantom Menace far exceeded anything I could have wished for. It was original, fresh, funny, exciting etc. Maul, Qui-Gon & Watto became instance favorite characters for me. The one thing I didn’t want to see was a remake of the OT, Disney and Kennedy anybody?, what we got was freah, original and new in a familiar universe. I was instantly hooked. Even to this day I say The Phantom Menace is like a fine it getter better and better with age.
