Matt Lanter says he’s voicing Anakin again in a new animated Star Wars project

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Anakin Skywalker voice actor Matt Lanter says that the Chosen One will return in an upcoming animated project.

“There’s some new Lucasfilm Animation going on. I’ve been a part of some things I can’t talk about yet. You’ll see Anakin again,” Lanter promises. “I never quite put Anakin down, whether I’m doing a video game or something new for Lucasfilm Animation.”

Maybe Lanter is talking about The Bad Batch, which is set just after the end of the Clone Wars. But it could also be Visions, A Droid Story or an unannounced project.

I’ve always liked Lanter’s interpretation of Anakin in The Clone Wars, so it’s good news.

But Hayden Christensen will always be the true Anakin for me. It’s Christensen that I want to see and hear more in the franchise. His return in Obi-Wan Kenobi is a nice step forward, but let’s hope it won’t stop there.

I have the same feeling about Hayden Christensen) Can’t wait for Obi-Ean Kenobi series. Really hope we’ll get a glimpse of the production process while it’s being done (hope you’ll share it here))

I’m happy to hear this news. I thought Lanter was splendid in the animation.

I’m surprised Lucasfilm didn’t just keep running with more seasons of TCW. There were tonnes of ideas left on the chopping floor when they originally cancelled the show in 2013, and they could have simply picked up on these. This whole business of creating new shows and trying to manuevere characters into them is getting complex, and may get out of control.

The last season of TCW we got, let’s be real, was the Asoka Tano show. We got very litle Anakin or Obi-Wan.
